I’ve fallen in love with Five-O Poker. It’s a great game filled with more strategy (and a bit of luck) than most realize. After you download the app – either on your Smartphone or on Facebook – you will be given a choice between the Classic and Pro versions of Five-O Poker. Not sure which version you should play? Let me help you out…
The basic concept of each game is the same – win at least 3 of the 5 heads-up hands you’re dealt. However, there are some significant differences. The Pro version is best for the experienced Five-O Poker player. The Classic version is a great way to learn the basic strategies of the game and build up your bankroll.
Basics of the Classic Version of Five-O Poker
To start the game, each player is given 5 cards face-up. You attempt to make the best possible 5-card poker hand in each column (5 columns). The first 4 cards in each column you are dealt are shown face-up so your opponent can see them. The 5th card is face down so it can’t be seen by your opponent. There is no betting round in the Classic version. You arrange the cards dealt to you strategically to make the best possible 5-card poker hands and then, at the end, the player that wins at least 3 of the 5 columns wins the game.
How the Pro Version Differs from the Classic Version
There are some significant differences between the two versions. What makes the Pro version different also makes the game more difficult to conquer. Instead of the 5th card being placed face-down, in the Pro version, the 4th card is placed face-down. Also, after all cards have been dealt, players have an option to bet based on how confident they are in winning the match.
The Pro version requires a bit more strategy. The placement of the 4th card face-down as opposed to the 5th card adds strategy on how each player should place their 5th dealt cards. The betting round also adds strategy because players are given a chance to risk additional chips. But be careful, if you place a bet and lose, you lose those chips.
Five-O Poker is a great, new poker game that is played on Facebook and mobile apps. There is plenty of strategy whether you’re playing the Pro or Classic version of the game. But there is more strategy required to dominate the Pro version. So get a feel for the game on the Classic level for a while. Once you have it mastered, move up to the Pro level and start building your Five-O Poker bankroll.
